In a statement delivered from the parliamentary podium, "Greatness" (Velichie) reiterated the need to renew the Belene NPP project immediately. MP Krasimira Katincharova read this statement

The party's position also demands the revocation of the decision made by the 50th National Assembly and calls for the government to begin preparations for the project's implementation as soon as possible.

Katincharova pointed out, "The catastrophic energy policy that has been followed in Bulgaria in recent years continues under the current government, and a radical revision will be necessary. Last year, we proposed that the Belene NPP project be resumed and completed based on all the conditions outlined in the original plan. This would provide additional base capacity, stabilizing energy supply not only for Bulgarian consumers but also for the entire region."

She emphasized that Bulgaria has a significant opportunity to assist in the recovery of Ukraine, provided there is reasonable and skillful energy cooperation.

"We aim to expand collaboration with all potential partners on this project, including Ukraine, on a friendly and constructive basis, to identify the most pragmatic path for implementation. However, we will firmly oppose any attempts to deprive Bulgaria of its largest investment and high-tech project. This project will not only enhance energy security within our country but will also contribute to the stability of the entire Balkan and Black Sea region," Katincharova stated, urging that petty political squabbles should be left in the past.
