In recent weeks, the Historical Park has once again been subjected to a massive media attack by Capital, Nova TV, bTV, and other media outlets. Unfortunately, we once again see a situation in which media receiving significant funds from the state budget do not adhere to the principles of fair and objective journalism. Such is the case with the bTV program, where in the morning block, hosted by Zlatimir Yochev, a discussion was held with guest Yoan Zapryanov. 

Here is the full statement from the CEO of Historical Park - Boyan Petkov:

“After the broadcast, we requested the right of reply, in accordance with the Radio and Television Act. Here is a quote from it: According to Article 18, paragraph 1 of the law, persons and bodies who are affected in programs in which they did not participate personally or through a representative have the right to such a reply. This is an important guaranteed right that must be observed in order to ensure transparency and balance in public debate.

This right, however, was met with refusal by the media team, which stated that there was “a lack of clarity regarding representation” and that there were “no legal grounds” for granting a reply.

On Nova TV, even this morning, reports continue to air containing blatant slander, incorrect and straight-up false information, along with photographs that have nothing to do with the Historical Park and provoke misleading and inappropriate insinuations.

What is being demonstrated is an extremely low-grade level of journalism in national media!

At the same time, last Saturday and Sunday, the Historical Park hosted the fifth edition of the International Festival of Traditional and Healthy Foods, held this year together with the festival of fertility of the Volga Bulgars - Sabantuy. Hundreds of satisfied visitors tasted the delicious offerings of international chefs and enjoyed the rich musical program, the farmers’ market, and the artisan workshops.
