The devastation of Alfatar is undeniable. The authorities intend to install wind turbines, claiming to adhere to the Green Deal, but in truth, they seek to undermine Bulgaria and make taxpayers reliant on their power. The soil around Alfatar is fertile, and there is an abundance of water. If agricultural production were to flourish, it could generate billions; however, the villages face depopulation due to the poor management by GERB and DPS. This was highlighted by Ivelin Mihaylov, who reported from an unlawful dump site near the small town.

He noted that since there is no one available to cultivate the crops, the leaders would rather construct wind turbines that they can control and abandon the Belene NPP, as diverting state resources is harder in that scenario. While they promote renewable energy sources as green energy, every municipality they manage is plagued by illegal landfills. Mihaylov showcased the condition of one of the illegal dumps near the town, for which a complaint has already been lodged with the relevant authorities. Instead of remedying the situation, the municipality has exacerbated it, and the responsible services have shown no interest in addressing the problem.

"What kind of country do we reside in? Where is the EU? Where are the leaders? Where is their commitment to green energy? They are ruining the land and water. We want to make it clear to them that this cannot carry on if the mayors complete their duties. Why should we continue to pay taxes? To contamininate our territories?", he stated and urged the mayors to step aside if they are unable to resolve these issues, allowing for the appointment of capable individuals.
