The lawsuit filed by MP Krustyo Vrachev from the “Vazrazhdane” party against Radoslav Manev for alleged defamation in a Viber chat has concluded. The court ruled that the plaintiff, Vrachev, must pay the legal costs of the defendant, Manev; however, he has not yet made the payment.
It is worth recalling that Radoslav Manev and his wife were the ones who built the local structures of “Vazrazhdane” in the town of Sopot and partially in Karlovo. His wife participated in the local elections last year, and although she was listed last on the candidate list, she managed to garner a significant number of votes. This caused discomfort within the party leadership and led to internal tensions.
Vrachev filed a complaint against Manev for alleged defamation within a closed Viber group of only 25 users. The MP demanded compensation of 15,000 BGN from Manev, who is 100% medically disabled and in poor health.
In order to handle the unexpected situation of being sued by the party he had worked for with heart and soul — despite his serious health issues and lack of financial means — Radoslav Manev received assistance from the Guardians of the Bulgarian Spirit Foundation to cover his legal expenses.
On June 5, 2025, case No. 14076/2024 in the Sofia District Court, Criminal Department, 121st panel, was closed, and Krustyo Stoyanov Vrachev was ordered to pay Radoslav Petrov Manev a total of 1,300 BGN in legal fees.
The two-week period for Vrachev to appeal has expired, and he is now legally obligated to pay the amount ordered by the court.
As of today, July 25, 2025, Krastyo Vrachev has not paid a single cent to Radoslav Manev.
Meanwhile, we regularly witness “Vazrazhdane” representatives chanting “return the money” from the parliamentary rostrum — often toward individuals who haven’t even faced legal proceedings — while they refuse to comply with court rulings when they are found guilty.
It is hypocritical to chant for justice while ignoring the court's decisions. It is not honourable to speak of dignity while waging absurd legal battles against a man with 100% disability. It is unfair to your supporters — like Radoslav Manev — to launch punitive actions simply because you feel like it. At the very least, have some conscience and pay what the court has ordered. After all, the moral damage you've caused cannot be undone.
