Last night, Ivelin Mihaylov’s appearance on the program "Svoboden Glas" sparked a range of reactions, from misunderstanding to approval. This prompted Boyka Zareva to publicly address the "Mustafa Emin" case. Below is the text that Ms. Zareva sent us, without any editorial changes:
Ivo's statement from the parliament and the entire program last night on "Svoboden Glas" have raised important questions. However, I would like to share my perspective on this matter. Mustafa Emin joining "Greatness" (Velichie) causes me considerable concern, as it does for many others within the so-called democratic community. He is a friend of mine, and he confided in me about his intentions. While I was not in favor of his decision, I understand the reasons behind it.
I know Mustafa; he possesses exceptional potential in addressing issues related to Muslims, ethnic groups, regional politics, national security, and party dynamics.
Mustafa has spent many years striving to fulfil his potential with "Yes, Bulgaria" while championing the interests of our Muslim brothers in Bulgaria. Unfortunately, he has often been denied the opportunity to do so. Instead, he has faced intrigue and unprincipled backlash from party leadership—those who have surrounded themselves with loyalists and eliminated anyone who expressed differing opinions from Hristo Ivanov, Ivo Mirchev, and Antoaneta Tsoneva.
Today, Mustafa is unjustly labelled a traitor, just as others who have sought better opportunities abroad are similarly condemned.
I wish Mustafa were not part of "Greatness" (Velichie). However, he would likely still be with “Yes, Bulgaria” if the party leadership hadn't chosen to strike deals with Borisov and Peevski, collaborate “technically” with Dogan, and engage in coalitions with the PP—placing questionable figures like Rudi Gela from ITN as leaders in Pleven and the communist prosecutor Atanasov as a leader in Blagoevgrad, not to mention Boyko Rashkov from the BSP as the Minister of Internal Affairs. It is important to remember that Hristo Ivanov served as a minister under Bliznashki and Borisov, and that Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev were brought onto the political stage by Radev and supported him in his second election. Let’s not forget how they voted for Desa Atanasova to become a constitutional judge, Glavchev as head of the Chamber of Accounts, and Kalin Stoyanov as Minister of Internal Affairs.
Yesterday, "Greatness" (Velichie) became a slightly better party with Mustafa Emin's addition. Meanwhile, "Yes, Bulgaria" has only diminished more without him.
I hope Mustafa can achieve his dreams. I also came across a sentiment that reflects this situation: "The most brilliant minds from 'Yes, Bulgaria' are joining '"Greatness" (Velichie). Let’s trust Ivo’s judgment—he has been working with people for many years, and I believe he is not making a mistake.
