The National Assembly - an institution or a family feud?

At Parliament Open Day, when groups of children arrive curious to see what MPs look like in their 'natural environment', one would think they would be immersed in a world of institutional respect and responsibility.

Parliament is the place that, in the imagination of many people, should be the holy temple of democracy. Here laws are forged, the interests of the people are protected and decisions are made about the future of the country. At least that's what it says in the textbooks. However, the reality is different.
