Dian Ivanov, former deputy mayor of Varna Municipality and one of the key witnesses in the case against the unlawfully detained mayor of Varna Municipality, Blagomir Kotsev, has admitted to giving false testimony to the Varna Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior (ODMVR – Varna) under pressure from officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK – Sofia).
In a Facebook post, he wrote that he had submitted a statement to the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office and published the actual document, in which he stated that, in the presence of a legal representative, he would explain the circumstances under which he gave the false statements.
“It remains to be seen what will happen to me,” Ivanov added.
